Montgomery County Department of Transportation crews have begun clearing neighborhood roads after winter storm Fern dropped more than half a foot of snow, sleet and ice in parts of Montgomery County over the weekend.

A lake effect snow band developed Saturday and is impacting part of Southeast Wisconsin’s shoreline Sunday morning. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. for Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties,

Temps in teens and areas of lake-effect snow impact some roads and may cause local school disruptions. The well-advertised colder and snowier weather pattern has arrived in central Indiana, and we’re already seeing the early impacts as temperatures continue to fall this evening.

The heaviest snow is expected to fall in the western half of Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren counties. The Monday morning commute will be impacted.
